Local Alisal High School Alumni Director hits the local streets of Salinas to shoot her film STPFD.

(Salinas, CA – Sept. 22, 2016) – Local Monterey Bay University Cinematic Arts and Technology (CART) student, Alba Jeanette Roland Mejia will be shooting STPFD Film at The Quality Market on 209 Williams Road in Salinas, CA his Friday 10:00pm to Saturday 7:00am. Born and raised in Salinas CA, this local director fulfills her filmmaking dream. Excited to be shooting her first film, STPFD, down the street from her high school this production brings her back to old times.

“I followed in the steps of my father and brother. Going to the movies was always our favorite thing to do together. My dad was the first one in our family to ever own a camera. He showed us how to us it and the importance of documentation. All the videos of our childhood were taken by him, so if it wasn't for him recording us, we would have no documentation of our childhood. My brother went to UC Davis and studied filmmaking there and is now a film teacher out in NYC. He is a huge reason why I decided to get into filmmaking as well. He taught me the basics and was always there when I had a question. If it wasn't for them two, I'm not sure I would have been as devoted to this craft as I am.” -Alba Roland Mejia

Powerful film STPFD portrays the horrors of Sleep Paralysis, a ray of hope for those who seek to find help.

(Salinas, CA – October 4, 2016) – Local Monterey Bay University Cinematic Arts and Technology (CART) student, Alba Roland filmed STPFD at The Quality Market in Salinas Ca. This film takes the audience on a suspenseful trip through Enoch’s dream. Roland describes:

“A woman dealing with an episode of sleep paralysis has to overcome the growing power of a dark entity in order to regain control of her body.  This film extremely personal to me, I feel that many people have suffered from sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is not a small problem but something that affects many people. This is such a personal topic to me ,it  exposes some of my deepest fears in life.It will explore sleep paralysis, self-control, self-awareness, fear of intimacy, fear of vulnerability, and a fear of men all in one short film.” -Alba Roland
